Real world evidence and market access expert Sreeram Ramagopalan joins LCP’s growing Health Analytics team

Dr Sreeram (Ram) Ramagopalan has joined LCP’s growing Health Analytics team as a Principal. His appointment will further strengthen the team’s expertise helping organisations to better leverage real world evidence when developing and commercialising new drugs and therapies.   

He previously led Real World Evidence teams across Market Access at Roche and Bristol Myers Squibb after his time in consultancy leading the team at Evidera. Ram’s career to date has focussed on leveraging real-world evidence to demonstrate product value and for Health Technology (HTA) and payer assessments to obtain and maintain reimbursement of medicines.  

Ram has significant experience in strategically planning and utilising routinely collected data for health economics and outcomes research and market access purposes. Some of his work around the use of quantitative bias analysis for external control arms has been cited as best practice by UK's NICE. 

Ram holds a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Oxford, an MSc in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and an MSc in Health Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.  

He is an international expert in real world evidence with over 300 journal publications. He is an academic editor for the journal PLoS One, on the editorial board for the journal BMC Medicine, an IFAPP Global Fellow in Medicines Development and a Visiting Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Pharmaceutical Medicine Research, King’s College London 

LCP’s Health Analytics team is led by Dr Jonathan Pearson-Stuttard, who is also chair of the Royal Society for Public Health. The team brings clarity to decision-makers in a world where health and healthcare are becoming increasingly complex. Through tackling the greatest challenges facing health systems, from ageing populations and multimorbidity to the opportunities of new medicines and technologies, the team aim to help shift health systems from importers of illness to exporters of health. The team work with a range of clients across life sciences and the public sector and recently published work with NICE leveraging real world evidence to characterise the variation in health need in people with type 2 diabetes.
