LCP’s Football Analytics team is delighted to announce that Lewes FC is the latest club to partner with LCP to use their TransferLab platform, a player analytics tool developed and run by LCP in collaboration with leading football consultancy Analytics FC. TransferLab uses advanced data and cutting-edge algorithms to provide an unparalleled online environment for scouting players in both women’s and men’s football.

The announcement was made at the ‘Embracing Equity in Sport’ event hosted by LCP’s Women’s Network, during which Lewes FC CEO Maggie Murphy and Head of Performance Kelly Lindsey spoke about the club’s pioneering work in pay equity. In addition, Jeremy Steele of Analytics FC joined Ashley Mould of LCP’s Football Analytics team to discuss the platform and the company’s work in the field of contract negotiation and career advisory for both Women’s Super League and Premier League players.

Lewes FC is a ground-breaking club, the first to achieve pay equity between its male and female players. The club has a consistent and excellent track record of community engagement and advocacy within the professional game. The club competes in the Women’s Championship and recently played Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-finals, the furthest the side has even been in the competition.

The club will benefit from various features from the platform, including being able to rank players against their own specified skillset to the quality of each player based on execution during matches.

Commenting on the partnership, Bart Huby, Head of Football Analytics at LCP, said: “Lewes FC has continued to make strides in all aspects of the game, so we are very excited to partner with them and support them in unlocking the power of data when it comes to player recruitment and performance tracking. Using data to assess players’ past performance and predict their future performance can only optimise the game further.”

Kelly Lindsey, Head of Performance at Lewes FC, noted, “We are very pleased to be working closely with LCP to bring enhanced, data-driven scouting techniques to the club. We are an ambitious club and are always working on ways to bring a high-performance culture to Lewes. TransferLab has a proven track record in women’s football and so LCP were a natural partner for us to choose in this area.”

Jeremy Steele, CEO of Analytics FC, added, “Lewes FC has been at the forefront of much that is positive in football, and the senior management is genuinely forward-thinking. We are therefore very pleased to be partnering with them as they bring data to their work processes around scouting and player assessment. We hope that our tools can help push the club towards the top tier of the WSL.”

TransferLab uses event data from over 100 men’s and 20 women’s league from around the world, covering around 100,000 male and 20,000 female players. It uses advanced analytics to assess each player’s past performance and help predict their future performance. The TransferLab Player Privacy Policy can be accessed here.
